I hope that everyone has been enjoying the recent weather? Recently, even Fujiyoshida has been pretty hot during the day, so it really feels like Summer has suddenly arrived. Everything is a luscious green and I cannot help but be relaxed by it.<\/p>\n

With the weather being so good, staying in on the weekend just doesn’t feel right. So, with the travelling bug active, my sister and I decided to go revisit a place we love. We’d gone to the Izu Peninsula before for New Year’s and, despite the sunny weather, we obviously couldn’t really stay at the beach or swim. But we have always wanted to go back in Summer, during swimming season.<\/p>\n

Now, we knew that it’s probably a little early to swim, despite the weather, and we didn’t really expect to swim or see anyone else swimming. However, when we came, we actually couldn’t believe that so many others – regular people, not just surfers – were swimming! Luckily, we did take our swimsuits with us (“just in case” haha), so we got changed and actually spent about 2 hours swimming.<\/p>\n

The sun was out, the water was clear, the waves weren’t strong, and the chill of the water was nowhere near as bad as we thought! From the water, it certainly didn’t look like May! It was a little tropical getaway that helped relax us in the lead up to a long work week. Nothing recharges people like a tropical vacation (even if only for a day haha)!<\/p>\n

One of my favorite things about Izu has got to be the actual drive there – the winding roads, the coastline, and the wildlife! We saw monkeys on the roads and so many tropical flowers all around. Even though the road is long, it brings me genuine joy to go for the drive and see all the beauty around!<\/p>\n
